Peace thru Culture (PtC) provides small group study abroad services to schools, organizations, and families. For more than a decade, PtC has provided its Global Trek Program to DC Public Schools, DC Public Charter Schools, and private organizations.

PtC Global Treks are designed to achieve specific goals and outcomes through study abroad programs.  Following are PEACE THRU CULTURE STUDY ABROAD CURRICULUM OPTIONS.

• The STEM & Culture Treks immerses students in hands-on learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math while working alongside local scientists, engineers, and environmental experts. Participants explore how STEM can be applied to real-world challenges, with a focus on sustainability and innovation. The trek integrates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to highlight how STEM disciplines can drive impactful solutions to global issues. Cultural enrichment through the arts—such as music, dance, and visual storytelling—deepens students' connection to local communities and enhances their understanding of global citizenship.

• Language & Culture Immersion Treks provide a dynamic blend of daily language instruction and meaningful cultural engagement. Participants deepen their language skills through interactive classes while gaining firsthand insight into local traditions, customs, and values. The experience is enriched by immersive activities in the arts—such as music, dance, and visual arts—and through authentic people-to-people exchanges that foster cross-cultural understanding and global awareness.

• Service Learning & Culture Immersion Treks offer participants a transformative experience that combines meaningful community engagement with rich cultural exploration. Grounded in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, these treks involve hands-on service projects that address local challenges while fostering global citizenship. Participants engage directly with community members through people-to-people exchanges, gaining a deeper understanding of local cultures, traditions, and social issues. The experience is further enhanced through the arts—using music, visual arts, and performance as powerful tools for connection, reflection, and cultural appreciation.

• The Government, Civics & Culture Treks are designed to empower youth leaders by providing an in-depth exploration of political systems, civic responsibility, and the influence of governance on local and global communities. Participants engage with public officials, community leaders, and civic organizations to understand how policies are developed and implemented. Through interactive workshops and site visits, students gain practical knowledge of leadership, advocacy, and public service. The trek also integrates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, encouraging young people to think critically about global challenges, draw comparisons between systems, and propose innovative, sustainable solutions. Cultural experiences further enrich the journey, deepening understanding through the lens of local traditions, history, and the arts.
