The PtC Alternative Spring Break is a five-day immersive experience that engages youth in hands-on learning through impactful field trips in Washington, DC, a visit to the United Nations in New York City, and exploration of global cultures, arts, and international organizations. This experience connects civic engagement, cultural awareness, and global leadership in real-world settings.

Life Skills & Team Building
Students kick off the week exploring the vibrant historic neighborhoods of Washington, DC, discovering how culture, diversity, and civic leadership shape the nation’s capital. Through guided tours and group discussions, they will connect history to present-day community impact while enjoying lunch together.
Students dive into one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, collaborating to brainstorm, vote on, and implement a hands-on mini service project. This interactive day builds teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills while making a meaningful local impact.
The group travels to New York City for an immersive cultural experience, exploring diverse neighborhoods through food, art, and storytelling, visiting a museum, and enjoying the energy of New York theater. The highlight includes a private tour of the United Nations Headquarters, where students learn how global leaders collaborate to address world challenges.
The program concludes with a hands-on cultural cooking class led by a guest chef, blending history, creativity, and practical life skills. After lunch, students participate in fun team-building games and celebrate a powerful week of leadership and global learning.
Earn Community Service Hours
Students can earn up to 20 community service hours with full participation.
